Rep Power: 0 | Dedicated Server Hey everyone! The company I work for has 9 stores. We are currently on Helios and communicate on a server we house in our main office. We are getting ready to convert to sunlync however, we are also looking to purchase a hosted dedicated server to support many new franchisee stores. I have checked out rackspace.com and aplus.net, however both sound rediculous at prices around $400 a month or more. Also, with this being our first time purchasing a dedicated server, I wonder what specs we should get - as far as processor speed (3.0 Ghz im guessing would be sufficent), Harddrive (Sunlync suggests 80Gb raid 5 configuration), monthly transfer rate (aplus.net provides 1500Gb per month), and also Windows Server 2003? (Aplus adds a monthly OS upgrade $74 to setup and $25 fee for the windows 2003!) All advice would be greatly appreciated! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Dedicated Server Thanks Elieen! I appreciate the link! Knxtan, I was hoping someone here uses a dedicated server that they are happy with and could refer me to their vendor. Our frequency of tanners are slowing down significantly, which would make this a great time to convert and prepare for next year. Thanks for your advice I guess. :sarcasm: |
