Lamps aren't lighting or very slowly

I replaced lamps in my dr.kern 32/2 the other day. I had one lamp that wouldn't work. Took it out and tried in a different spot and it worked. Replaced the starter and still wouldn't light. Now the same bed has 2 lamps not lighting apart from one another and several others that are coming on very slow.
Any ideas? I am new to this bed repair.

Did you check the lampholder?

Re: Lamps aren't lighting or very slowly

Would that cause other lamps not to work or start very slowly?

Re: Lamps aren't lighting or very slowly

it would prevent that one lamp from not starting. Are you using S12's or electronic starters. The electronic starters give a more rapid start.

Sounds like the starters. Replace them all, and then cycle the bed on and off 10 or 20 times.

Re: Lamps aren't lighting or very slowly

Also check your voltage. It may of changed coming into your building. These beds are know for ballast also going out. The schematic is hard to read and is not always right. Easy way to find the ballast if you don't have a volt meter is to turn the bed on and let it run for about 10 min. Touch each ballast in the ballast tray and when you find the cold one, this is the one not running. Also the wires can come loose on the ballast and the lamp holder. And as Ed said, check your starters, that's the first thing. PM if you need any other help on this unit, I know these units inside and out. Good Luck

Re: Lamps aren't lighting or very slowly

New lamps? Don't they tend to light up brighter on the ends than the middle until they get some use? ~shrug~

slow lighting? What does this mean? Are you talking the facials or the body lamps?
