Taxes and Tantrack

Is there a way to take the tax off a purchase in Tantrack, without having to go in and edit a product or package. For instance, had a girl purchase a 4 buck packet, didnt have enough for tax, so I let her go, but I couldnt find a way to take tax off in sales screen. You cannot discount, as that discounts the retail price, but then still adds tax. I also have "no tax" days, and dont want to have to go through every product and package and edit the taxable button. Thanks!

not responding related to TanTrack but the topic in general.

CAREFUL ... there are VERY specific guidelines on the concept of "NO TAX" days with both the Provincial (PST) and Federal (GST) government.

Although you may advertise NO TAX ... the sale and receipt MUST show the applicable tax to a discounted price that then includes tax arriving back at the amount charged being the normal price before tax.

OR ... you could turn off tax, put a note on the receipt saying Taxes including ... and have a VERY clear accounting showing the extraction of tax from the day's sales and that value being remitted.

Re: Taxes and Tantrack

Why wouldn't you just discount it? You're talking a matter of cents.

Re: Taxes and Tantrack

The only way to handle this on a case by case basis is to discount the price of the item and let the sales tax apply to the sale.
