Dummy or Expired Credit Card for helios EFT

Can anyone think of a reason why this idea would not work or have a better solution. I have a few clients that would like to sign up on an EFT but they do not have credit cards (we do not offer check drafts) my idea is to use one of my old expired credit cards for thes customers when setting them up. At the 1st of the month when the card declines it will prompt a payment at their next visit. Is there a better or easier way to do this?

Do they not have a Debit Card with a VISA or MC logo ... that will work and process as a Credit Card with Helios.

The problem here Lee is that Helios will not allow an Expiration Date that is already expired to entered into the record. Nor with Master Edit save an expired Expiration Date.

Your basic idea will work but you will have to get around that issue. Perhaps ensure the Start Date will not draft them this month via the prorate function on the open sales code and enter the current month as the expiry ... on the first draft next month it will reflect expired. Now make sure that "old Card" will not happen to be processed with a bad expiry ... have not seen it but worth having an eye open for it.

Helios also have a V11.4.7 that allows EFT draft months to be Prepaid. Common if someone whats to buy a Gift Certificate of Prepaid months. With that version you could avoid the prorate issue by always entering 1 month prepaid ... client would pay that and the current month prorate and the start date would be the draft after the upcoming one ... and then again enter the current month as the expiry and it will be expired by the time their first draft occurs.

HOW let me say ... rather defeats one of the base concepts of EFT drafting ... what will someone pay not to tan ... well with this system ... no show no pay no benefit.

If you are using a dummy card for a customers payments, aren't you defeating the whole idea of eft's?

He wants to let them pay instore ... and use the EFT module to effect monthly billing on the clients instore account.

Different strokes for different folks ... some will see it as customer service, other as defeating the concept of EFT ... would think that Lee is not thinking of it as EFT but rather using the EFT module to effect monthly billing if he choices to offer that option to select clients
