Re: Helios Backoffice
I am sure that Helios will most likely address the issue for V11.4 users ... as I understand it, it was Tony's idea and now that he is gone I would hope and expect that it will be addressed.
I have the upmost respect for Bill Pipp and would be most surprised if he would not direct Helios develpment to honor the prior Helios committment that a user could at any time if they choose cancel their software maintenance agreement with Helios and continue to use the version that they were using while on support with Helios. V11.4 will not live up to that commitment after a year, 2 months and 5 days ... lots of time for Helios to address the issue ... so assuming they do for all users whether they are then on support or not ... all is good. If you are on support and maintain that support, I really doubt that they will be ready in that short time to discontinue support on V11 in favor of Centrix ... I would not be surprised if that takes years. So for Helios users on support they would have dealt with this issue well before then I am sure. |

Re: Helios Backoffice
Andy you are so full of crap! You have the highest respect for Bill Pipp? Thats not you use to tell me! I guess you need to brown nose somebody but Bill wont buy into it!
You had no idea what we where going to do or why we where going to do it! Our strategy was dymanic and could or would change at anytime! But hey you make your living presenting yourself as a Helios Guru so i guess it makes economic sense to speak as "Father Sees"! Just wanted to have some fun :) Tony |

Re: Helios Backoffice
Why would anyone stick with Helios with all of this uncertainty? The initial response you got from Helios tech support is a great example of their company culture..."we've already got your money, your problem is not our problem." Everyone knows what a jerk Tony is and Scott Bogdan is just as bad. They lied to my face and I initially thought I didn't have many other options, but I switched to Sunlync and although the conversion requires some patenience and work, it is nice to be dealing with people that respect their customers, something that Helios does not.
I can't see why any smart business owner would ever switch to Centrix (never let another company control your data...ESCPECIALLY a corrupt enterprise such as Helios). So, instead of having to put up with Helios for another year or two before you will have to switch, I would highly recommend that you switch now. I am very happy that I did and I'm sure you will be to. As for new users reading this forum...DO NOT GET STARTED WITH HELIOS...it will be the worst mistake you can make in this business. |

Re: Helios Backoffice
Good to see you are alive and well Tony.
Not even once did I EVER say anything to you negative about Bill Pipp. It is you my friend that is full of crap on that statement. You were the only one making negative comments about Bill, NOT I. But it would appear that is of little importance now. But do not sweat it, sit back, sun yourself, and play with your real estate I know you enjoy it ... and honestly you deserve it. I admit I may not know the whole intent, I only know what you told me and that may very well have been a pile of you know. I talked to Scott today and he stated that anyone that ever had Helios V11 on support would be provided with a solution when the time comes regardless of whether they are then on an active support agreement or not. He further stated that the intent of this process in Mar of 2008 is the eliminate the ability of unlicensed copies (pirated) of Helios V11 to continue to be used ... so as I said, which you referred to as a pile of crap - Helios will take care of anyone that is or was an authorized user. As for the Helios Guru crack ... with respect I will gladly compare my customer satisfaction rating against your any day of the week. It is over a year since a relevant part of my revenue related to providing Helios support ... and I must admit I honestly do not miss it. Be well ... have fun ... enjoy the game! |

Re: Helios Backoffice
U know what is going to happen in a little bit over a year when your Helios will die out of nowhere?
Independent Helios consultants will be making big bucks. Lots of ppl will not switch to Centrix so $30 per incedent fee with Ind. Consultant will be better choice than 50 bucks a month for something you dont use. |
