Helios Workstation Very Slow

Has anyone else experienced a "slooowwwww" workstation?
Any solution ?
I use my server as "workstation 1" and I use a workstation as "workstation2"

Work Station 2 in all locations is very slow. For example, looking up clients.

Help!

Re: Helios Workstation Very Slow

check your network settings. If you are using USB networking get rid of it too slow. Switch to a cheap hub and a basic cat5 setup should be very fast. Check the network itself to see what speed you are getting. If you are at 100mb it should be very fast. It could also be the path needs streamlining to your POS.

Re: Helios Workstation Very Slow

It seems to me that you are either dealing with a hardware or software configuration issue and the trick is to isolate which one. You could load Ms-Access on "workstation2" and "link" to the Helios data files on "workstation1", if the execution of client lookup queries using Ms-Access on "workstation2" is slow also, that would point to hardware configuration problem, where as if if the execution of client lookup queries using Ms-Access on "workstation2" is NOT slow, that would point to software (Helios) configuration problem.

Also, as I understand your network setup from what's been posted here, "workstation1" needs the most resources because it's not only a workstation, but acts as a file server for "workstation2".
Good Luck.
