Rep Power: 51 | Cash drawer and receipt printer help please... How do the 2 connect together? They're suppose to go on one port aren't they? I don't see anyting in the printer manual about connecting to a drawer. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Cash drawer and receipt printer help please... Typically the cash drawer has a "Y" cable. One end will go into the LPT port on the computer and the printer connects to the other end, completing the circuit allowing the cash drawer to pop when appropriate. Hope this helps.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Cash drawer and receipt printer help please... Ah okay, that's a different issue. That's called an RS232 connection and needs to be used with a compatible printer. In this case the cash drawer does plug into the printer, if your printer doesn't have this sort of jack you have the wrong one. Typically in this sort of setup, the drawer will be compatible with only one manufacturer of printer (eg: Epson, Star Micronics, etc).
