The machines are Windows XP Pro, and I think its Helios 9.4

Are you using Simple Sharing or Full ... also put the everyone under Security as well as Sharing

You may have to Refresh the security settings

Is this a new workstation or did something happen to an existing system

It is probably locked. Is there a 1kb clientlock file directly above the client mdb file?

I think, and you need to talk to the people at nichesoft, that the problem lies with windows users.

In other words if the software is loaded up on a certain user id then only that person will beable to view it. I had this problem on one computer. Only the admin was able to use the program all other users were unable. I had to delete each user and only have one.

I am sorry this was a problem that I had with Tan Track not Helios

possibly copied the Helios file, or DATA Folder while Helios was opened on the old setup.

Close Helios on the 'server' .

Go to C:\Program Files\Helios9\DATA folder and see if any of the files have xxxx.LDB at the end.

You can delete them

then try opening again.
