Is there such a thing as a tanning bed repair school?
Or Do all or most manufactures provide repair courses on their equipment? Or Is standard tanning beds technology basically ordinary fluorescent lamp technology http://www.howstuffworks.com/fluorescent-lamp.htm with special bulbs tubes designed to emit mixtures of UV A & B? Are there tanning bed parts houses like a "NAPA" for tanning beds? Tom |

Wow. No. No. Yes. Yes. Most distys and mfrs carry parts on hand. You can get some things at Grainger, Home Depot, and Radio Shack. As far as troubleshooting and repair goes, all mfrs and distys offer tech support over the phone, and some are better than others. But that's the scoop. Good luck.

I agree with WST - Jeff Valaska's Parts Warehouse (now part of Heartland) is one of the best around and not many who know their parts better than Jeff!!
A GOOD installation team will include some "basic maintenance" and "common trouble shooting hints" to an owner -- if they are "receptive". Many aren't - and regret it later. GOOD companies also can offer a LOT of assistance over the phone - providing, again, you have someone on the other end of the phone willing to "get their hands dirty" and try a few simple fixes before calling in the SWAT team. Number one most valuable tool to own and know how to use - a simple voltage meter. |

Most MFG'S will train distributor tech's or certify them with their equipment. Trouble shooting on most equipment is fairly easy until you get into units with circuit boards, digital leds etc. If you ever need help or have any questions on how to do something or check something please give me a PM and I will help you the best I can. There are some electricians that can trouble shoot equipment but most have no idea on tanning equipment unless they have had experience with them previously. For instance: I had a customer call an electrian in to trouble shoot a facial problem. They billed the customer for 4 hours labor. The problem was a bad ignitor. On that particular unit, it would take approx 20min to fix. I think this electrian spent 3 hours trying to get to the ignitor or find it. But if you need help PM and I will do my best for you.

I found two products that work very well in keeping all types of blue cobalt glass sqeaky clean and performing like new even w/ thousands of hours on them. About every 500 hours i take all blue glass out and use lint free task wipes and 1st clean with a product made by Stoner called Tarminator. Then i immediatley follow w/ another Stoner product called Invisible glass. Just buff lightly. Seems like alot of work but the output stays really high and actually extends bulb life saving lots of money. Been doing this for years so i know its safe on all glass surfaces. Readings stay like new.
