Rep Power: 21 | I'd love it if Helios would ad a searchable data space for liscense plates. It would help me pull up clients names to use before they entered. Also, there should be a screen where you can scan an item to get the price without putting in a clients name. What else... |

Rep Power: 25 | Before I pass your suggestions on to Helios Development for consideration: 1. Help me understand how you are thinking of using the License Plate search feature 2. Regarding your Price Check suggestion ... just pull up any client, scan the item and press F11 BEFORE you enter the Cashier code ... there is your price. If you wish you could even add a client called Price Check and put a space in front of Price so if you press F2 in the last name it will be the first client on the list (assuming you do not already have another client with a space at the beginning of the last name). |

Rep Power: 0 | If I may offer a little input of my own... Regarding the license plate search feature - I think it is laudable to wish to be able to pull up a client's account even before they walk through your front door. From the client's point of view however, I would be very hesitant in revealing my license plate number if I know it is being recorded and attached to my client profile. I would be even more concerned if the information has been gleaned and recorded without my consent. It would seem to raise too many red flags regarding why the salon records this information, how they use it in the future, and what other information may be required of me in the future just for the use of an indoor tanning facility. Regarding the price check feature - As Andy has indicated, simply pull up any client (a non-specific client) and scan the item or find the item by pressing F11 in the Point of Sale area. The normal retail price will be displayed in the Find Product window to the right of the item. On the other hand, if you offer Membership Pricing on the item, this will not take into consideration if the client standing in front of you is eligible for the membership price. In order to allow Helios to provide you with the accurate price for this specific client, you would need to pull up this specific client's account and the price will be calculated with consideration to their membership discount. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: wildfire on 2005-08-05 06:28 ] |

Rep Power: 51 | It's the little things that annoyed me on the demo. Why not just have a 'tan' button to click when the customers file is open? I had to call a friend at another salon just to find out I had to go to services to tan someone. Made no sense. |

Rep Power: 21 | Andy, I would use the searchable liscense plate function as follows: I would input part or all of the liscense plate of a client pulling up. I would then have their info and be able to greet them by name. It would be an awesome feature. As for having to input a client or "price check" client file just to find out a product price seems like a few too many steps, or at least something that can be improved on. |

Rep Power: 25 | BP ... still having personal difficultly with the limited number of vehicles that could park within eyeshot to use the concept of storing license plate numbers. Also I believe Wildfire may have a valid point regarding the storing of data of this nature related to a client without consent. Regarding the price check issue ... it is only one step ... Press F2 and Enter ... retrieving any client allows the use of F11 or F12 to retrieve a price. What ever the alternative could be would involve as many keystrokes. |

Rep Power: 25 | If you are backing up to an external or internal drive. Helios can provide a Backup Utility ... request it from support@gohelios.com. THIS WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE BACKING UP TO A CD DRIVE, which the vast majority of user do. As I stated on the other thread the issue and reason here related to inconsistent requirements of CD drives. _________________ Andy Thompson Home Office: 519-858-4154 Helios VM: 317-554-3409 US Cell #: 317-529-0041 andy@gohelios.com andy@myatso.com[ This Message was edited by: Andy @ MyATSO.ca on 2005-08-17 15:57 ] |
