This is one of those things i just cant do. I call ergoline and tell them length i need and what size the ends should be. Cost more - yes. Easier and i know its done right - yes.

The phone cords(also referred to as communication cord and four wire flat) that come with T-Max boards are 50' with RJ-22 (aka handset connector) ends. When you look at the wire color sequence in the connector with the clip on the connectors "facing down", you should have the same colr wire sequence from left to right at both ends. If you don't, then you don't have a "straight through" connection and you won't get comm on the network past that board on T-Max, Intellitan, and ETS boards. You can find RJ-22 connectors at some Ace Hardware stores still, and specialty electronics stores. The correct crimping pliers are harder to locate, as most hardware stores and Radio Shack only sell crimping pliers for RJ-11 (phone wall jack) and RJ-45 (data wall jack and PC jacks). Additionally, the FST boards and controllers that use the 4 wire cord and RJ-22 connectors have to have the color sequence reversed between the connectors to establish the comm link. Hope this helps. Good luck. BTW, a phone guy or an electrician will usually have the right crimping pliers for the RJ-22 connector size.
