Hi,

Our salon is running 6 beds, 4 of which can speak T-Max or Intellitan protocall, using an Intellitan CCS IV manager and intellitan protocall. Here is our problem. After bringing a bed from our other location into the mix, we have one bed that only can speak T-Max and a Sundash R-26P that has the older timer and power boards in it which can only accept Intellitan protocall. We have a T-Max 3A wall timer we can use on it though, so that then all could accept T-Max protocall and we could re-configure the CCS IV and other beds to all be T-Max.

Can someone shed any light on how to connect the T-Max 3A to the Sundash R-26 P? Is there a way to bypass the timer in the front of the unit and control it via the 3A? I know there is a Timer outlet of some sort on the back, but do not know the wiring for it. Supposedly I should be able to connect the J3 jack in the 3A to 2 control wires on a bed? I have also read it may be possible to use the 3rd jack in the power board that has a dummy plug in it (on board, right next to the 2 phone style jacks that run the cables from the chain from the CCS IV to the bed now) using a combination of the 4 wires or just some of them connecting to the J3 facks on the 3A.

Can anyone offer some advice or help? For now we cannot run that bed from the CCS IV until we get it solved.

Thanks

The disply on the rail is just that a Led display the Power board is actually the timer...You can set it up as you stated using the rj22 plug as a(Tpi) third party interface network..The red and black wires are the contact wires. Cycle power to the bed and have someone watch the display to see what software version you have in it..it will flash L# then go to zero..

I just had the same problem as you. The beds I have are 1995 and they don't make that timer anymore, so I ordered the third party interface network for the bed which didn't work. currently I have 2 20 minute beds and one 10 minute bed both sundash hooked to t-max and they communicate correctly. What I did is I found the wires that control the cooling fans and bi-passed them by the three minute cooling cycle, so the beds cool only when the bed is on. That function I beleive is set in the intelitan time on the face of the bed.(these wires are on the right side of the balast tray in a wiring harness)It's hard to explain without the bed in front of me,but there are two harnesses one white one blue or black. In the harness closest to you unscrew one wire at a time while the bed is on, when the fans turn off you found the right wire connect it to the other wiring harness directly behind it and you have bi-passed the cool down mode. When you turn the bed on the fans turn on when shut the bed off the fans turn off. Then connected the red and black contact wires that run from the bed to the intelitan timer to the t-max. I daisy chained from 3a to 3a not from the unit under the bed. the intelitan don't have power I cut the whole harness. Hope it helps work good for me...........

Ergo and Phoenix,

Thanks for the info.

I am going to go into the salon either later tonight or in the AM and will try the red/black right from the bed first to see if that works and what goes on with the fans.

That fan thing sounds interesting Phoenix.

One question I had was am I going to run the red/black wires from the J3 terminal on the T-Max 3A to the standard RJ-22 jacks I would usually plug the chain into, or the third jack with the dummy plug. I have to look at the power board again and see if it is the one with two RJ-22 plugs on one side(the ones that would normally be the ones you plug the chain into), and 3 on the other, or if it has the 3 with the one dummy plug. We have several sundashes and I can't remember without looking what that board looks like. I was also told on phone by someone that it might not work with a standard 3a timer...that I might need a "SIP" timer because of it having another chip or something.

I will post a reply after I try out your suggetions and see if I can find the right RJ-22 plug to go into.

Thanks

Sorry but i miss informed you..there should be three plugs Two rj-22 and one rj-11 the bigger of the three that is the one you use for Tpi.I think the contacts are pins one and 4 but not real sure..you could also you a sip timer to change the t-max language into the intillitan...you want to avoid disabling the post cooling after session for over heating componets and lamps also heat issue's

May I jump in? Thanks. You will need to run your "4 wire flat comm. cords" directly into the RJ22 jacks located underneath the bench at the head end of the unit. Before doing this however, you will need to set "parameter 27" to "1". I can talk you throu this if you would like. PM me for my digits. (phone number)Good luck.

If your using the t3a Tpi protocal you will need to edit parameter 26 as well..

Why use the TPI and T-max at all? Just go right to the board with the comm network cords.

Sorry, I should have read the entire post. Wouldn't they need an SIP, then? And where would they wire the trigger wires to? They say they have a CCSIV. I don't understand where their problem is here. They have the CCS IV, and a Sun Dash. Why do they need the T-max at all?
