I figured the problem has something to do with the power but how do I figure out why I am not getting power to it?
Is it because it is a 3A? If so, why? I belive it is the last one on the daisy chain... but I am not sure. We did have this happen before but it was a simple fix. One of our beds in the middle of the daisy chain came unpluged from the wall. I should say the timer came unplugged from the wall. All the other beds still worked though. We plugged it back in and viola it worked. The problem here is that we can't see where it is unplugged or disconnected. |

Once the communication stops at a certain room, then everything after stops........ Hence the daisychain name... one break in the link and there is no longer a chain. Good work. |

You should have a 12v transformer plugged into a 110v outlet in the room near the timer box. Start there. Good luck. |

Neon- I am just telling you how it has happened in the past and I don't appreciate your condescending tone. I am just looking for a fresh idea on how to FIX the problem. If you can't provide suggestions for help please don't waste my time with the posts. |

Correct.
But aren't they claiming the units after this room are working? Of course that is assuming they have wired it in a manner that is consequtive....... Go to each room with a T-max an ensure that the 12 volty thingy is plugged in. go thru the addressing procedure, if you come across a room where the in=room T-Max has no display, then you have a problem...... no power. |

You can lose comm with a board and still maintain comm with throughout the network. Bad comm chips or a cut or disconnected comm line will cause a break in the network. |

But with my system, once you loose communication to one timer within the chain, those that follow are also lost. Unless, perhaps you are using a wireless T-Max system, in which case I have no experience. Neon- I am just telling you how it has happened in the past and I don't appreciate your condescending tone. T-max timers work in a row, one feeding off the next to the next and so on. It sounds to me that the comm cables are all plugged in, hence all the beds still working but one. The first thing I would do is to remove the 3-A from the wall and check all the connections behind it. They have very small wires that can come loose form every day vibrations in the wall.
If every thing is ok there, then find out where the 12 volt transformer is plugged in and make sure that the outlet that is feeding it has power. A simple swap of a power cord from another unit that you know is working well will determine if it is the power cord or a defective 3-A unit. Good luck! |
