Thanks for your points...No, really I appreciate it. For Real! Now, can someone who does not have a comment on how we run our business help us out here. Let me state for the record. We are dumb. We take money from poor people who may not come back in again. its not a good business practice as attested to by the TT forum trolls. Now do we have that out of the way? Lets talk about Helios! How can we set up Helios to allow us to do "cash" monthly memberships and prompt for payment on or after their due date?

Helios will allow you to do EFT's and print a report on the due date etc.. To charge them via Credit or Debit card. In your case you want it to post a balance for an amount due. IT does not work like this. And I would not do it either. Some options are use a credit/debit card, raise it to monthly higher fee, do a three month, six month and year memberships paid in full. I personally don't like the way your doing it. I am a firm beliver in building a large membership base.

How odd that Helios will not allow you to act contrary to your business interests. This freaks me out. Im suprised it lets me set my own prices! I guess I missed that page in the comprehensive manual that came with the software. GENIUS, I hope they have you on the payroll. Its nice not to have to wait for a call back.

Yes I believe you can accomplish what you are looking for but you don't want to set it up as an EFT Correct me if I'm wrong Andy). What you need to do is set up a salescode selling the Membership but instead of using the eft options under the pkg/mem tab use the In House Charge and credit option under the financial tab. Under the credit amount enter the amount off credit that will be extended on this package. Under payment amount enter what the monthly payment you require will be. Under days until due enter 30 (assuming you want it to come due every 30 days). I believe this should work for you but before taking my word for it you should ask Helios tech support.
PS: you will need to make sure the client has enough inhouse credit for this to work or else set you employees up with a password allowing them to increase credit limits.
Hope this works/helps you.

Just summarizing what others have already detailed for you yucantantoo. Sorry for my delay in responding been away from the office and internet for the last week.

What you are describing is not an EFT membership but rather an instore annual membership with monthly installment payments paid instore.

You can setup the initial membership valid for the year (365 days) and with a default price of the initial month ... in the example above $20. The balance of $220. would be recorded within the Inhouse Charge Options on the Financial Tab of the sales code as the Credit Amount and $20 as the Payment Amount. Only the $20 currently charged will be included in Sales.

You then need a separate sales code to record the monthly installments. On this sales code also connect it to the appropriate Division and Department that you wish the monthly $20 record. This special sales code (ie: POB30) Payment on Balance - 30 days, in the Credit option enter 30 in the Days until due as summrtan suggested.

When the client pays the next $20 installment AND ONLY when they pay that exact amount the due date of the next payment will be advanced by 30 days.

If the client fails to pay the $20 installment by that due date the Balance will be reflected as RED / Past Due and this will stop the client for tanning on any Package and/or Membership until the the installment is paid.

Couple of cautions using this InHouse Charge approach:

1. If the client does not pay the whole installment the Payment amount will be reduced to the balance of that installment owing and you will ultimately have to use Master Edit to put the Payment amount back to the standard amount

2. If clients can "charge" other items as well as this annual membership with will not work well for you because those additional charge items will distort the Installment process and make it VERY difficult to manage,

If you need further help, give Helios Tech Support a call or post further question once you have given this a try
