Coupons/discounts using Helios

Can anyone share how they do coupons and discounts using the Helios program? "Coupon" is not a form of payment, so if I had a $5 off coupon, how would I do that? The only way we've ever done any specials is to enter it as a sale. (Ex...a special on a package is already entered in my "services" and is rung up already discounted). Don't know if that makes sense but hopefully someone with Helios will know what I mean. Also, how would I ring % off lotion??

Discount it in the dollar amount.

Sorry, not sure what you mean. Unless you mean just price the lotion lower, that's not what I'm asking....

Before you hit F5 to end the sale go to discount in the middle when it's lite up. And do it in the dollar amount.

For coupons, promo GC's, etc. you have to make a sales code that you can taylor to your needs. It's that simple. Plus you will not likely be able to combine services and products into one sales code because of different taxes, and inventory issues. I have specials on tanning packages that include a lotion. The tanning has to be entered with a code, and then the product with another code so that proper taxes are added, and the product taken out of inventory.

But, if you wanna track certain coupons or promos, make a sales code for them.

That's what we have been doing. I was just curious if I had, say, a $5.00 coupon good on any lotion... We have always done our specials as sales codes and you're right - it's a great way to track it.
