INCORRECT ... you will not lose anything.
Helios can not be used during the process, ... here is what can happen ... PLEASE ensure you have assistance from Tech Support doing this ... Ensure Helios is NOT being used Backup your current Client.mdb Replace your current Client.mdb with the backup Client.mdb that contains the notes Run a special utility available to "Convert V11 Comments". Replace the backup Client.mdb with your current Client.mdb I would suggest that you do another COMPAREDB (V2.2.7 related to V11.3.40) after this process before starting to use Helios again. Attention any other Helios User upgrading .... the need to do this convert applies ONLY if you are upgrading from Helios V11 PRIOR to V11.1.5 (that is when Transactional Notes were introduced). So if upgrading within V11 prior to V11.1.5 you MUST do the V11 to V11 convert. After V11.1.5 a COMPAREDB will do the trick, from that point on only additional fields and indexes are involved, not manipulation of data. _________________ Andy Thompson Director of Training and Support - HELIOS LLC Office: 317-554-3409 Cell #: 317-529-0041 andy@gohelios.com[ This Message was edited by: Andy @ MyATSO.ca on 2005-03-18 09:58 ] |

We are working on the next "official" release of Helios which will be labeled V11.4.0
At this time V11.3.40 (some have V11.3.37 thru V11.3.40) is in the hands of over 100 Helios users that have SP2 systems and need these versions and also BETA Testers that have given us VALUABLE feedback on issues they have detected. Once we offically release V11.4.0 it will be available for download from the Helios Website (Partners Section). If you which a BETA version (V11.3.40) email support@gohelios.com. You can also request a BETA update to the reporting module ... V11.3.7 contains V2.2.30 of reports, a BETA update V2.2.52 is also available. Once we release these updates offically updated information regarding what has changed will be posted in the What's New section of the Helios Website. |

Quote:INCORRECT ... you will not lose anything
Okay except I DID lose my client notes.....I am not making this up. I was on the phone with a Helios tech who emailed me the new updates. YES I closed out of Helios. NO I did not do any backup.....I WAS NOT TOLD TO BY THE HELIOS TECH. How am I supposed to know to do that? I thought that's why I pay Helios 40 bucks a month. |

Email me your Salon Contact info ... Salon Name, Address and Phone # ... I want to followup with the Helios Tech that handled your call.
I was not suggesting you were "making it up" - clarifying that if you have a backup (any fairly recent Backup) of your V11.1.2 data we can recover your notes. You stated you do have a backup ... so we CAN recover those notes. If you were told by a Tech that recovering them at this point would cause you to lose the data for the last couple of days, that was INCORRECT ... they can be recovered without lose of current data. Call back into Tech Support ... I am sending a link to this thread to all Helios Tech's so they will be aware of the issue. _________________ Andy Thompson Director of Training and Support - HELIOS LLC Office: 317-554-3409 Cell #: 317-529-0041 andy@gohelios.com[ This Message was edited by: Andy @ MyATSO.ca on 2005-03-18 09:53 ] |

ALWAYS backup your data before doing ANYTHING that affect your data in a batch process.
I am not saying that the Helios Tech should not have suggested this. I am just clarifying that you (and all other users) should always have a backup before you run any type of update to your program and/or your data. _________________ Andy Thompson Director of Training and Support - HELIOS LLC Office: 317-554-3409 Cell #: 317-529-0041 andy@gohelios.com[ This Message was edited by: Andy @ MyATSO.ca on 2005-03-18 09:39 ] |
