Rep Power: 5 Island Cove will become famous soon enough
I have version 10 installed on both computers and I think that i have mapped the network properly, but my workstation is not reading nor is it writing to the server. It lets me do a sale and finish the sale but it doesn't appear on the server. It is reading that the hardware key is there and it seems to be working but it is not. How do I make it write to the server? Any help would be appriciated.

Are you seeing the Data from the Server ... if you press F2 are you seeing the same client file as from F2 on the Server.

Initially it sounds like you have not mapped the Data directory from the Server on the Workstation properly, but then you would not see the Client data UNLESS you put a copy of the data on the Workstation.

Best bet is to call into Helios Tech Support ... they will assist you.

Opens on Saturday from 10am to 2pm CT --- so 8am until Noon PT time.

Yes, I can F2 and get Client information, but it is only to a certain date, everything after Feb 23, 2005 is not showing up. I have a feeling that I have not mapped correctly but don't know how to fix. I can sell somthing on my workstation but it isn't reflected onto the server and vise versa.

Yes, my wife sent you the private message.

I got the email advising of the private message on Tanf..... but as I said I do not contribute there any longer. Wanted to acknowledge receipt of the email notification but as I stated I do not respond to Tanf......

Sounds like your are mapped to an incorrect directory.

Make sure the proper directory ... default ... C:\program files\helios11\data is properly shared on the Server

Then on the Workstation ... map that share as the desired drive letter ... use MultiUserSetup.exe within the Utilities directory on the Helios11 CD to point All Data Paths to that mapped drive letter.

Tech Support will be able to talk you thru this is you need assistance.

I have done this, but it isn't working. I think I have something wrong were everything is saved. The work station seems to be mapped right but there is something wrong.

If the data is not saving to the server database ... then the mapping and/or the DataPath on the workstation can not be correct.

After looking on the server, I have noticed that I have Helios 10 saved in 2 different locations. All I have done is installed Helios 10 and done a conversion upgrade from Helios 9.4. How do I know which one I am using and how do I make my workstation see that.
Thanks
Rob

I have not dealt with V10 for over a year ... you may be much better served to call Helios Tech support.

You should be able to fine the MultiUserSetup.exe program on the V10 CD ... I believe it is in the Utilities directory.

It will point to the directory currently set as the Path for ALL DATA and allow you to modify it ... again call Tech Support for further assistance on this re V10
