Has anyone successfully converted from 8 to 11?? Any ideas would be usefull. Tried running the conversion that came with the software...but it is a 9 to 11 conversion...and it didn't work.

When we bought the salon...it had 8, computer died, and we decided to go ahead and purchase 11.

Quote:You will have to either install V9 on the old machine (from the V11 CD you will find a V9.4 CD directory ... NewInstall) V9 being in Demo mode for the convert is fine ... or you can install V8 on the new system and copy the data onto the new system ... again you would install V9 to convert from 8 to 9 and both these versions can be in Demo mode for conversion ... no problem.

Once converted to V9 you can then convert to V11. If you converted to V9 on the old system you do not need to install V9 on the new system ... just copy the Helios9 Data Diretory to the new system .... the V9 to V11 convert will allow you to point the the V9 path.

You would then worry about Pictures if you have then and Release or Contract documents if they use them .... copying same to the appropriate V11 directory.

As was quoted above ... one minor correction on what I stated in the quote.

You do not need to install V8 on the new system, you can use the Manual option in the V9 convert that will allow you to point to the location of the V8 data.

kimeni - you have email, sorry for delay responding - was away from email and office for a long weekend (R&R and work)
