So if you want the commission to be $9. then set the RATE to 50% and the FEE to -$1. on a $20 sale the commission will be $9.00, if the item were to be discounted to say $10 the commission will be $4.00.
I am not sure of the law in your jurisdiction (remember I am Canadian) but were I come from the employee has a legal responsibility to declare TIPS as income, so I would be careful of assisting them which your second approach may be viewed as doing in addition to being a "pain in the books". The approach you take here is entirely your choice, options have been provided. |
