I am in the same boat as neon. I Like the screen size ... Actually I have no problems, and I would like to keep it that way !!! I am paying the new rate so Helios is getting what they want. Why should I have any penalties for not upgrading ???? I would have to scrap my computer. New Computer cost $2,000. And I had to do that just to get on board with Helios in the first place a few years ago. So are the loyals getting punished or being forced to spend more for an unrealistic reason. I would definitely like a one on one about this. I talked to you Andy in the beginning of the year about this. I would like to know how the benefits outweigh the costs.
AND The only reason I have to scrap my computer is because the one that I bought a few years back to get on board with Helios was Windows Millenium and you need to have XP Professional with the new version of Helios. Any resolution for a less cost please tell me.

SUN1 ... depending on the specs of your current computer, it may only be necessary to upgrade the Operating System to XP Pro ... that would cost less that $200. A top of the line Dell processor would cost just around $1,200. if it is time to make that investment.

Good to hear you are not having a problem with Windows Millenium, that is not usually the case ... Microsoft is not very proud of that operating system ... but if it is working for you that is excellent.

The fear I have for loyal Helios users that are still on V9 and prior ... is if you do have a problem ... it will be a MAJOR problem, season is coming no better time to make the move.

Helios has no intent of punishing loyal users ... the security features in Windows 2000 and XP Pro are far superior to prior operating system which Microsoft themselves no longer support. It is truly logical I believe for Helios to have withdrawn support of Windows 98 and prior since Microsoft has as well.

With a 17" monitor the new Helios Point of Sale screen is excellent ... within November one of the final changes that I have requested to V11 is that the font on the client info be slightly enlarged (Bold) ... there is room and it will make the screen easier to read for users with 15" monitors.

SUN1 ... do I remember correctly that you are located Florida ... you going to Orlando ... if yes ... drop by the booth, would love to review V11 with you ... a bunch of additional enhancements currently be added ... a lot in reporting (worth a look).

I have heard it is not wise to upgrade the operating system from Millenium. Major Problems. Even after the XP Pro is in it will have problems. If this is not true please let me know. I have no problems now so why fix something that is not broke.
If I do have problems I will address them at the time I feel.

I definitly will stop by the booth at the show Andy !! THANKS.
I truely hope you got enough positive info to convince me now is the time.

Never used Millenium, but that very well may be true.

If that is the case, they consider buying a New XP Pro, backing up your data, formatting the drive and install the new XP Pro

Looking forward to reviewing the features with you ... and check out the new thread outlined the enhancements from 10 to 11 and also from 9 to 10
