Im curious as to whether people have subscribed to any "online" appointment services. Anyone have any experience with these for scheduling?

I think it would be a nightmare during busy season. Too, your computer would have to be online 24/7 and if your business is computer based, a virus attack (highly likely ) would be a disaster.

The approach that Helios has taken regarding this with BookYourself.com is to use an ASP (Application Server Provider) to host the appointment book.

This means that your clients and your staff can use Internet Explorer to access the appointment book, when desired, which is hosted on a 3rd party's computer. Thus your system is not exposed to the risks outlined above.

To use any Computer based appointment book would require more than one computer at the front counter of a salon ... or it WOULD create a nightmare (especially during busy season). Sometimes a manual appointment book just works better, if you opt to take appointments for clients.

The one large plus that bookyourself provides is allowing your clients to book their own appointment (of course your staff would have be to using the same system) if you view that as a positive thing.

The BookYourself.com service is really just beginning to get a foothold, not sure how many clients they have using it ... suggest you contact Helios Sales Department if you are interested ... contact info available at http://www.bookyourself.com

I would expect that users could expect an increase in business, because of the convenience of the system allowing clients to book an appointment 24/7 to tan within your business hours based on available timeframes by Bed Type

John, the setup within BookYourself is Password protected.

The setting of appointments is not ... whole concept here is to allow your clients to book their own appointment and of course your staff would have to use the same system for available beds and time reflect all appointments.

If that is not something you wish to do the this product would not be of interest to you.

Concept is great, but if anyone and their pet Emu can access your appointment book, what's to stop jokers from booking your entire day just for kicks?

I would assume that if people register (they'd be somewhat serious) the salon would have some information on them. what do you think Andy?
