in my travels I came across another one that does something similar to BookYourself.com A friend of mine is actually using it and says that it allows you to decide whether you accept appointments from anyone, or just the people you want. Have a look. www.appointmentworks.com

I'm sorry, but I just cannot accept anyone having access to my system from a remote location. Even the best virus protection programs out there cannot stop a virus they haven't been programed to reject. The issues also include servers being overloaded, servers in service and you having no access to you appointment log.
I'll stick with the reliable phone system. Let them call to make appointments. They can even use my message system after hours. |

Just to clarify ... using BookYourself.com clients are NOT accessing your system. They are booking appointment through an ASP (Application Service Provider) with the data re appointments stored remotely from your salon. Your employees would then use the same "remote" appointment book to work with the Appointment Book ... that is entirely separate from Helios V11 data.

OK, so everyone accesses a "remote" appointment book. don't I still have to download the information? Doesn't that still allow the possibility of a virus to enter your system? What if the server is down? How do I find out what appointments were made?
The system is feasable, but until all of the crazy, malicious geeks quit messing, I'll keep to the old system. At least if I get a virus, it's becuase I accessed something I wasn't suppose to. |

You are not bringing any data down onto your system ... you are looking at data that is stored on the ASP Server. Of course anytime you do any function on the WEB you need to ensure you have taken the appropriate measures to protect yourself ... Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Routers etc.
If the server is down you do not have access to the Appointment Book. Firms that offer ASP hosting services normally maintain a 99.99% reliablity or they will not be in business very long. |

My massage therapist has a subscription with Beautybyus so I can always book my appointments online. It's very kewl. I even have my own personal page so I can review all of my online appointments. I'm sure they do tanning as well. Cheers! http://www.beautybyus.com |

I am anxious to check out the bookyourself.com offered by Helios
We do not take appointments for our tanning sessions so I never thought about it but now since we are doing spray tanning it is a "by appointment only" |
