I hate to admit it, but I have yet to back up my system. I know this is bad. I opened May of this year. What is the best way to backup?

Don't feel bad I have not backed up since Helios 8. I am still going strong.
Just lucky for now. Every once in awhile I think about it. Like when a storm comes. My computer has some sort of bug, (virus) so I can not get on the internet. and the CD rom is not working. All I can do is trust my customers. I'm a small salon. I wish I could help.

If you have a zip drive, do the following:
Click Start
My Computer
C Drive
Program Files
Right click on Helios 11
send to E ZIP250
click on "yes to all"
This is how tech support told me how to do it

Yea! About the Zip drive, didn't order one when I got my dell. I guess I can go buy one for a reasonable cost. Can't I just back up on my hard drive? Wouldn't that do the same? Does anyone know.

No need to backup your entire hard drive. If it crashed you would reload the entire operating system from your restore CD. Just backup the HeliosXX\data folder. Buy a Zip drive or a USB jump drive and copy these files. I have found that I had to archive a lot of my data so that Helios did not run so slow, so it would be wise to start backing up now!

Yes, you can back up on your hard drive. The only problem is if your hard drive crashes. The zip drive is a separate devise.

I'm glad I'm not the only one still wondering how as well? Can you back-up to a CD-ROM?

Yes you can back up to a CD also. I only back up the data file not the whole program too.

Ok, someone please tell us how to do this. In my last job, we backed up to our hard drive and didn't have the zip. This was a Fur coat/gift store and we had a lot to back up. so if that can be done I know we can do the same with tanning.

some computers are built with dual hard drives for just this purpose. still lose data if the salon is flooded or computer is stolen complete. find the Helios11/Data folder on your C Drive. Right-clik and choose Send To and click on the CD drive letter. alternative is to cut/paste the same folder to the CD drive directly. don't forget to copy all release, contract, and picture files, if used to the back-up also.
