Rep Power: 0 malloc is on a distinguished road
Hi,

I'm developing a site for a salon. They run the latest version of Helios software. I've been told that it has a way to allow online reservations? Does anyone know how to interact with that? The owner of the salon said that they did not get a book with the software or anything that explains about it. However, the salesman told her that it does online ordering, as this was a must-have for her.

Can anyone give me any tips or maybe point me to a book or online information on how to work with the Helios online reservation/appointment tool?

Thanks

Unless your client has a dedicated Internet connection forget it. They's have to refer to the online booking everytime someone calls on the phone to book an appt.. Not to mention, the rumour and I emphasize rumour, use to be that, online bookings gave the owners of Helios (ETS) some sort of access to a salons client list and therefore and an active mailing list for direct sales.

Two different issues (or more) here folks.

First, "bookyourself.com" is an ASP application that allows your salons and your clients to access your appointment book online (as John stated) you would need internet connectivity for this to be operational for your salons. Your Clients can book an available appointment for themselves as can your staff within your salon(s) by accessing the same database stored at the ASP Server.

I am sure an appropriate confidenitally agreement would eliminate the concern related to the possibility of ETS or anyone else using your data in any fashion. Now while we are on the topic of rumors ... I heard yesterday, subject to confirmation that with the reorganization at ETS a week ago Friday, that ETS is stopping selling Home Beds directly to consumers and that those units will move thru the established Distributor Network ... hope I am not starting a false rumor because that is most certainly not my intend. I doubt ETS would consider using that info anyway ... it is also available in the phone book right.

Now the second topic ... Helios can also provide you, thru a Hosting ISP a Website that will allow your clients to purchase Packages and Memberships online and the transactions updates into your Helios Database within minutes. I reviewed this with the provider in Nashville last fall, need to get an update from Helios regarding status of same, but I understand they have a number of clients using this Online Sales Approach ... would considering if it is of interest to you.
