Rep Power: 0 Mistawho is on a distinguished road
I know I've posted about this already, but I realize that I was asking the wrong question.

I want to bring a salon into the 21st century and out from the stone age. They run SunMate, it's a Dos 6.22 system. It's horrible and the database files get bugged every so many weeks (sometimes months) because they simply weren't created for 20k+ customer entries, among other things.

Run-on sentences aside, what is the absolute best salon software for Windows XP? With good timer support?

Any answers would be appreciated. If you would be so kind to contact me directly @ mistawho@comcast.net I would appreciate it.

Take care.

What about Salon Touch or Sun Touch Plus? Anyone agree?

Salon Edge 2.0 - we used to use Helios and we'll never go back. very modern and easy to learn. only works with t-max and database timers tho.

Aaron ... are you going to the Las Vegas Trade Show?

If yes, I would appreciate the opportunity to review Helios with you.

It is by FAR the easiest and most complete POS system available to the Tanning Industry, once properly configured.

I will also be offering a full day of training on Helios two times during the Las Vegas Trade show ... on June 22nd and June 23rd.

It would be a pleasure to be of service.

I have been using Helios since the old, old dos versions. And not have had the WAN for over a year........can't imagine there is anything more user friendly and more extensive in reporting and security.

Helios gets the job done as many of you have eluded to. Whatever you do, stay away from Salon Xpert. Not only is the program unworkable, but it depends on the viability of the internet and when it goes down, so does your salon. If that is not all bad enough the ownership is incompetent and unethical. For more details see tanning-salon-point-of-sale-software.com

We use SunEase on Windows XP. No problems and very simple to use.

Aaron,

I'd suggest checking out our software - TanTrack. http://www.nichesoft.com

If you'll be at ITA stop by our booth and check it out. If you're not going, just visit our website and request a free demo. Its not a slide show. Its a fully functional version.

We work perfectly under XP (And all other Windows systems excluding 95). TanTrack also works with all major timers.

With that big a database, your choice should include ability to import data from Sunmate, if any. I went from Sunmate to Helios but that was ten years ago and it was all DOS.
