Been trying to figure this one out for the last hour. what specifically is written within the program that would affect the shut-down/restart of the machine itself? As soon as I uninstall Helios, everything is fine again. For ref. P4 3.0, 1.25 Gig RAM, 160 Gig HD.

Are you trying to re-boot with Helios running?

v11, similar problems on three different computers with different configurations. all seem to have a problem shutting down or restarting.

OK SunDizzy ... I am confused

In one post you say your system is restarting every couple of minutes

Here you say you can not get a system to shutdown or restart ... help me understand what you are really having trouble doing.

Please describe what you mean by a problem shutting down or restarting ... I open and close Helios at least a hundred times in my normal day ... the only things I do experience is that when you close it ... wait a few seconds before attempting to reopen the program, expect this is more of a Windows issue that Helios because it happens on other apps as well. Also, I do not recommend having Helios AutoStart on any new system ... odds are you will end up in demo mode, need to close Helios and restart it.

in the other post, another person is having the problems with the random shutdowns. my specific problem is only when i actually attempt to shut down. normal Helios program operation appears fine at this point. but if/when i close out of the Helios program and exit the the timeServer, then attempt to shutdown the computer, it "hangs" and never shuts down.

update: today i removed Helios from the Startup folder, so that it doesn't automatically load when powering up. now when i close out and try to shut-down, it still hangs for a bit during the blue screen but it does shut-down after about 45 seconds. when i put the program back into the Start-up folder, then go to shut down - i end up with the initial problem again.
