Can I use a mag stip card reader to input client information with their drivers license? I have v11 and a Magtek reader, but I can't get it to work right. All info goes in the last name field. I was told it would work when I talked to Helios sales dept, but they also told me to buy a serial recipt printer... Help.

There has been discussion about this concept ... but it is currently under review within Helios ... not available at this time.

One of the challenges here is that different States/Provinces have differing formats of the info stored within the Mag Stripe on their Driver Licenses.

Thanks Andy, That is what I was what I thought. I keep getting screwed by that Sales dept. Anyway, It cant be that big of a deal, I know of several software programs that are capable of using DL's including tanning software. But that is niether here nor there if Helios dosn't support it. Please try to plug this for me when you see them. Accuracy and speed is what we need. Thanks for your support and welcome back!

I think that would be pretty cool but isn't there issues with privacy? I mean with how easy it is to steal someone's identity, I'd think your DL would be something you'd want protected more.

DL only has name, address, DL#, B-day... The same stuff you ask for and your customers give you in your business. If swiped it should fill the client fields in helios.

If you can get all states in the USA and all provinces in Canada to have exactly the same format of data within the MegStripe on the License ... I am sure Helios will be very pleased to create an interface to that one structure ... while there are up to 62 different formats ... not so sure.
