Can helios data directories be spread amongst servers? Theoretically I think they should be able to do this. What is wrong with pointing to the different locations in Multiuser.exe? Say to some remote network locations and some local locations.

Thanks,

Access Databases shared over an Internet connection ... NOT A GOOD IDEA

Helios WAN for V11 will be available within a month ... do yourself and your client a favor and wait for it ... this statement based on you saying in another thread you are using V11 POS

Andy,
The data is sent via encrypted VPN. It's secure. My questions are because we have two locations and need to get this working. My customer was unaware of the Version 11 not being the WAN version (or 9.4 or 10 WAN). It has pretty dismal performance over the network. It's a fairly fast network (256K).

being secure is not the issue I am raising ... it is the concept of processing records from an ACCESS database over an Internet or any external communication line.

V11 will have a WAN function it is just following the release of the V11 POS by a couple of months. 9.4 did not have a WAN function ... it started with V10.

If you believe it is ok to do, you do not need any guidance from me.
