We are trying to hurry and finalize everything before we get networked and the season hits hard. I have three questions and I hope they make since.

My first question is: We are only networking 2 stores at this time. If we have duplicate customers (same customer tans at store one and store 2 because we are in the same city) and you network the two stores together, what is going to happen? Is one of those duplicates going to be over-riden or are you going to have two customers now in your database with the same name and you have to delete one?

Question 2: Store 1 client numbers start with lets say 1000. And at store two your client numbers start with 1000, when networking two stores together, is one of those customers going to be gone because they both had the same client number? How does that work? does it assign everyone a different number when you network? I just want to make sure we have everything correct before calling Helios to network so we don't have major problems?

Question 3: I have everything keyed in store 1 they way I want my inventory to read, verses everything at store 2 is not the way I want it. Can I save just my inventory and overwrite it to my database at store 2???????? If so - how do I do this? Can you write the steps out for me?

Excuse my ignorance. This has been such a hectic year already for me, and I just am trying to get everything done correctly.

Thanks so much

Re Question # 1: ... Helios have a Merge Duplicate Clients utility related to the Helios WAN ... it is currently undergoing some enhancement but should be available very shortly. It will based on information on more than one client record being the same ... MERGE ... the duplicate clients keeping the oldest of the clients and transfering all transactions to that remaining clients ... contact Tech Support for that utility, it will be part of the process to migrate to the Helios WAN.

Question # 2 ... when you install the Helios WAN ... your clients (and transactions) will be renumbered by the Setup Utilities used to initially add a store to the WAN environment. All customers at Store # 1 ... will have 1,000,000 added to their client # ... all customers at Store # 2 ... will have 2,000,000 added to their client # ... etc.

Question # 3 .... Inventory and Sales codes are unaffected by the Helios WAN ... they do not batch between stores at this point. You can with caution, care and knowledge copy your V10 or V11 Salescode.mdb and Invt.mdb and perhaps your Helios.mdb from one location to another. There are ramifications related to your Sales History ... Departments and Divisions ... etc .... I can provide consultation related to this if you wish ... call me.

shybabie ... were are you located.
