Your choice .... Helios sell a complete system, both standard and premium ... everything is as recommended by Helios.

Now considering I get a commission if you buy it through Helios with my recommendation ... one guess what I would prefer.

If you would like to discuss, I am on the road ... give me a call on my cell ... 317-529-0041

Sorry Andy,

Only a ________ would buy a complete system from Helios. You fill in the blank. Do your home work and check prices, I doubt that Helios has repented from it's greedy ways.

Brian:
I have Helios 9 on a generic IBM PC. I have a Star SP212 printer, MMF cash drawer, and HP laser printer for printing reports and releases.

The Helios website lists:

Complete System
Flat Screen Monitor,
2.4Mhz Pentium 4,
512 mb RAM, CDRW,
Cash Drawer,
Receipt Printer,
Battery Backup,
HP Color Printer.
NOTE: 3 year next business day warranty on CPU. $2,499.00

There is no mention of brand, size of the monitor, or of any other software. Unknown whether this includes cables. The website specifically states that
“Product shipped may vary from photos shown.”

After 30 minutes on the computer I put together a better system for less money.

Dell Dimension 4600 Computer loaded with 2.66GHz Pentium 4 processor
512 MB ram
17in Flat screen monitor
Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office Small Business edition, Norton Anti Virus,
Dell inkjet printer 1582.00

Total price:
System with software,
17 in flat screen monitor & report printer $ 1582.00
Battery backup $ 99.00
Star receipt printer $190.00
Cash drawer (High end) $200.00

Total: $ 2071.00

Note that this Dell system includes Microsoft Office 2003 Small business Ed, Norton Antivirus, and quite a nice monitor and graphics card. With a cheaper monitor and without the extra software, you can easily shave another $300 or more from this price.

If anyone wants to know, I will be glad to post further information regarding where I found these prices. It took about 30 minutes and I wasn't looking for bargains. I have no financial interest whatsoever in any of these products.
