V10 - NETWORKING BETWEEN 2 STORES - tanTALK

We have our DSL installed at both store locations. We have version 10.2 and a static IP address at just one store.

My 1st question is: Do I have to have static IP's at both locations? These stores are within 6 miles apart from each other but since networking is new to me, I am lost.

Can you assist me on what I need to do from here?

1st step is to arrange to upgrade your Helios from V10POS to V10WAN ... this you may have already done.

You do need a Static IP address at the location where your Server for the WAN is located. If is recommended that all locations have Static IP addresses, but that is really only to make your activity for Reporting and Back Office functions easier, and will in great part depend on the economics of Static IP Address from your ISP versus a Dynamic IP Address, weighted against the value you place on the related convenience.

Beyond that, I would suggest you give me a call or Scott at Helios and either of us would be pleased to review with you your requirements from this point forward ... would be pleased to be of assistance.
