Rep Power: 0 | I am installing a computer and software in my wifes salon. Currently she has a 3A controller for each bed at the front desk, starting the beds is done at the front desk. What she wants is to be able to start the beds using the computer instead of the 3A's. Also, she doesn't want to have any timers in the rooms. Is it possible to have the 3A in a passive mode to where the timer isn't actually used? I hope I made this clear enough, lack of sleep |

Rep Power: 25 | I will leave the "in the room" part to those that know more than I regarding Timers, to elaborate more than I do below ... but ... you will need a TMax Manager / Manager Pro at the front counter to connect to the computer to allow the computer to communication via the Manager to each room. Regarding "in the room" ... you need some form of device in the room that will communciation between the Manager/Computer at the front counter and the bed. If your beds are equipped with the appropriate electronic timers then 3A's are not required, if not they are. Beyond that ... Kevin, Dan .. help |

Rep Power: 0 | Thanks for your reply, I was going to use the Manager Pro with my existing 3A's. IT would be easier if she would let me put the 3A's in each room and have the customer start the bed when ready but, she wants to control the starting herself and without having to push the 3A's start button. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: kkbird on 2003-12-17 19:14 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | Well, if she already has the 3A's at the front desk she could keep them and just daisy chain them to the Manager and everything would operate basically the same as it does now. I assume she has them set up for a 3 or 4 minute delay then an automatic start. Adding a Manager wouldn't have to change how the 3A's themselves operate. It's just that the Manager would set them. How many rooms is she controling and what kind of equipment is it? If she has equipment with Tmax compatible timers in them and is using the 3A's as masters to control a bed timer, then she could eliminate the 3A's alltogether. |

Rep Power: 25 | It also seems logical to me, that a client be able to start the bed manually before the end of the delay time if they are ready, rather than lying there waiting for the last minute or two or three to tick away ... allows the next client to be served faster. |

Rep Power: 22 | That is the best way to do it. But there are a significant number of smaller salons that simply have a 3 minute delay and then the beds come on ready or not. This is common in health clubs and gyms also. Kkbird, once your wife has a Manager controlling the time at the front desk, there is no operational reason to not move the 3A's into the rooms. If this cannot easily be done right away, then you could always move them back one at a time at your leisure, if you're the one that is going to be doing it. You don't have to move them all at once. |

Rep Power: 25 | If the desire is to continue to do the starting of the beds manually, then no need for a Manager and/or to connect to the computer. If you are going to control from the computer, then into the rooms go the T3A, unless the beds are equipped with compatible timers as tanfixr stated. |
