Rep Power: 9 Sonshinetans is on a distinguished road
after about 1 1/2 years I had to add the recovery disk to my HP system. this is my client computer. It has been networked without any helios errors for a long time. I was having problems with it shutting down correctly and decided to repair it.
I have my drive mapped, changed the data path, changed in helios system the computer to client and still getting the error
"no authorative host found/can only work in demo.
What am i doing wrong.....
Thanks in advance

This error relates to the System Info settings inside System Preferences not being set.

The Mapping etc relates to finding the data ... that sounds like it is working properly, BUT the dongle relies on the System Preference setting ... so go into Preferences, Setting, System Info .... set to LAN, Client and provide the System Name or IP Address of the Server computer ... that will resolve this error.

Thanks Andy,
had to call tech support on this. He found that my ip address was different on the computers and we resolved it and now I'm up and running.
I also was told that Helios tech support will not support win98 after the end of this year. Not a biggy, guess I need to update but if it ain't broke we have a tendancy to not try to fix it.
Thanks again,
tommy
ps
what's going on with solar soft pos

The above message was not edited by me ... that is not possible.

Suggest you contact Michael Chunn regarding the status of the Solarsoft POS.
