Hi Andy,

I am installing new workstations with Windows XP from the Helios version 9 CD. I receive a series of error messages (can't access registry, etc). Then do the update to 9.4 and receive more error messages. I cancel the rollback and the program locks up in the F5 payment phase. Can you suggest a work around?

First, be advised that V10 will operate better with XP than V9.

With V9 you are best to install on XP use the Compatability mode with Win98.

You need to be logged in to XP as a user that has Administrator rights (at least while installing).

Hope this helps ...

Thank you, Andy! I will give it a try. I have been following the Helios discussions and had decided to say adios to Helios tech support because of the encription issues with version 10, and in hopes of finding a new software with which I couold import my *.mdb files. Thanks again.

None of those encryption issues are in place. There is nothing that cannot be accessed using Microsoft Access.
Verion 10 runs fine using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, but will not run on Windows 98 or older.

It is not that it would not have run on XP Home ... it is that Helios will not allow it to be installed on a system running XP Home.

So, right Lee ... Windows 2000 or XP Professional
