Install Helios V10 on the new computer ... from the CD (assumed to be V10.0.70) ... PLUS ... the latest update you applied to Helios on the old computer.
This should result in you have the same Version of Helios on both the old and new computers ... ie: V10.0.86 or V10.1 How copy (backup) your Helios Data from your old computer to the new ... the Data directory is inside the Helios10 directory. If your ports changed on the new computer (for timer etc) you will have to adjust that. If you are using the Contract or Release forms you will also have to move them. If you are taking Pictures you will also need to move the Pictures directory from within the Helios10 directory. and finally of course you will have to move the dongle to your new system. Hope this helps ... _________________ Andy Thompson ACT Business Solutions Toll-Free 877-777-6717 andy@atso.ca ACT Help Center [ This Message was edited by: Andy @ ATSO.ca on 2003-04-28 15:21 ] |

Unless something has changed recently, I do not believe that Helios V10 has a built in backup routine ... so I assume you are talking about the backup routine you created yourself.
If you are backing up your Helios Data ... that would primarily be the contents of the Data directory ... so if you did that backup and restored that onto the new system ... should have worked. Just adding this post for you to check to ensure that your backup routine does in fact include your Helios Data. Better safe than sorry. |

Nikki, you would want to look at what you actually backed up and what you actually restored.
This does not relate to your current issue but rather to ensure that in the long run you have a good backup of your Helios Data when you expect to have. |
