Rep Power: 24 | Andy, I have windows 2000 on both computers and they are networked with both computers using helios 9.4.... I am having to reboot my system at least 2 or 3 times a day. For some reason I get a timer communication error and can't do anything but reboot... What is causing this to happen ??? Thanks in advance.... ps When are we going to know for sure on the salon wizard and support package??? tommy |

Rep Power: 0 | Tommy: What timer are you using? I've had problems with my "Database 10,000". There are suggested soultions on their web site http://www.sunstartimers.com I had continuious problems with Helios 9.4, went back to 9.2 and timer problems reduced 95%. You'll want to stay with 9.4 because you are networked. |

Rep Power: 24 | thanks tropical tans, I was beginnig to feel neglected:) I have the tmax 3a's... but the error is coming from my helios network timerserver 1.20.. Is there a newer version of their timer server? I have yet to call helios becauce I am sure of the kind of answers I'll get from them.. Just has'nt been the same quality since they took stuart off the phones. |

Rep Power: 25 | anything is possible but unlikely in this case ... just to confirm ... you are using TMax Manager right, there are other issues with the Database Timer and SunTimers have an entirely separate TimerServer program for use with their timers. Give Helios a call and keep pushing until you get Rich or Stuart |

Rep Power: 24 | I just discovered something new. been running my on tests. If I leave my room status screen on either of the computers while making a transaction on the other.. the timer communication error occurs. If I close the room status screen It elimates all problems. So this lets me know there's gotta be a conflict between the helios network.. do you agree or have another theory? |

Rep Power: 25 | When the Room Status screen is up the program repeatedly queries the TMax for Bed Status info. Helios is likely reporting an timer error when trying to send time to the bed and the comm port is already engaged in responding to the status request from the other workstation. I will ask John at Solarsoft if any configuration change on your computer may help reduce or eliminate the problem, but I doubt it. Reminds me of the old joke (but this is hardly a joke) about the Doctor telling the patient "well do not raise your arm above your head if it hurts when you do". |
