I see that Helios has a keyboard with a built in magnetic stripe reader. I heard this was for scanning drivers licenses an it will enter the information into the system for new clients....is this true? If so this will be of great use to save time. I will have to get one for all the salons!! Thaks for your help!!

I personally recommend that you get the mini-wedge cards reader that is not a part of the keyboard. You can get these for about $55.

I have bought the keyboards in the past and they are more expensive and if any part of it quits working you lose the whole thing....

Will this connect to Helios to use scanning drivers licenses for client data? where do I purchase them? This would be a tremendous time-saver, especially during season, and it would reduce employee error. Thanks for your help!!

Here is one from CDW. I buy from CDW a lot. You may want to confirm with them that it will scan the Driver's License.

I am not aware of any ability in Helios to automatically extract from a Driver's License the Name and Address data ... I know they were working on / looking at this a number of years ago but I do not believe they implemented it.
