How do you go about taking double clients out of the database while in Helios

Bring up the client you wish to delete and click on the "X" in the ToolBar or go File and Delete or use Shift/Delete. You will get a prompt message asking you to confirm you wish to permanently Delete the client and you will then need to provide the appropriate Password that has been authorized to Delete Clients.

The only "tool" in Helios that assists in FINDING duplicate clients is the Duplicate List in Management Reports ... this report solely uses the Birthdate to find and report possible Duplicate Clients.

Hope this helps ...

Be careful that the client does not have an active EFT associated because it will not be removed. Andy, Is this still the case with Helios 10?

Helios actually have fixed the associated EFT record issue in V10. When you delete a Client in V10 the EFT record (if any) associated with it is also deleted.

HOW ... the following are not and should be:

... Comment Record
... Department and Division Summary Records
... Service Records

Transaction and Voided Transaction records are also retained on Deleted Clients ... that makes a LITTLE more sense since likely you want to include at least the Sales Records on Sales Reports ... a more appropriate way to handle this in a Relational Database structure (which we know Helios is a far shot from that) would be to make a Client inactive (awaiting purge), which would stop the client from displaying as a current client ... this appropriately would save recording the Client First Name, Client Last Name again and again and again in EVERY transaction record ... major waste of space.
