Andy..
Thanks for the info regarding the sales code trainer. I finally found it and worked out most of my codes. I am having trouble with one code though. Here's how my beds work..
I have 3 levels...level 1 is 20 min, level 2 is med. 12 min and level 3 standup 9 min. I am using minutes, but on a valued basis. my level 1 is a 1:1 ratio (tan 20 min, deduct 20 min off package) level 2 and 3 a 2.5:1 ratio(tan 10 min, deduct 25 min off package). I absolutely cannot figure out how to program this. I know it works because a salon i used to work at did theirs like this. Could you help? By the way level 1 is .45c a min, level 2 and 3 $1.25 a minute. Also, do you happen to have a code for a free staff tan (any bed). THANKS SO MUCH!
Erin

The Free Staff Tan is straight-forward Erin ... set up a code like TE or TS (Tan Employee or Tan Staff) Tan Time of 20 Variable and allow all beds ... thus Free in all beds.

You could also set up a code to establish an EMPLOYEE membership and require that membership to be in force on the above tanning code. You would then also need a code to Cancel the above EMPLOYEE membership when the staff member is no longer working for you. This Employee Membership is not necessary but may provide more control ... you can then also use it to give Membership Pricing on Products.

There are a number of ways to approach the other question you presented, the final approach will depend on a number of issues and desires on your part. Need much more info in order to determine the appropriate approach.

One inconsistency that can simplify this set up for you is to make the ratios and fees per minute consistent.

By that I mean 1:1 and 2.5:1 are not equal to .45 to 1.25 but they are equal to .50 to 1.25

Are you selling packages of standard minutes against which all beds draw, or are you selling packages on minutes on each bed type. If a client upgrades or downgrades, how to you wish the system to handle that.

Helping Helios Users with Sales Codes is a primary area of revenue for me ... in all fairness ... if you need more assistance please call the tollfree number below, my clients find my services well worth the investment involved.

One other thing on Employee Tans, if you are using V10 ... there is a new field on the Employee File in to which you can enter the Client # for the Employee ... Helios will then not allow that Client # to tan while they are Clocked In.

Thanks Andy..

..for getting back to me so quickly. I understand that this is a "business" for you. How much do you charge for your services. I am located in the Windsor area, but I probably just need a phone call! (no on site needed). If you don't want to post here...email to me at heatwave_tanning@yahoo.ca
Thanks again!
Erin
P.S. Yes all beds pull from one MINUTES accumulator

Erin, we are very close ... I am in London, just about 2 hours east of you.

I agreed and am sure it will take no more than an hour to review the Sales Code issues you have outlined and clarify how to handle the Value or Multiple functions ... which are used related your ratios, and how you wish to handle upgrades and Single Sessions.

My rate for my services is based on $100. per hour or part thereof. My Off-site and On-site services provide users with services at discounted rates. Again based on your post, I would expect to be able to clarify the approach you need to follow in give or take about an hour.

Looking forward to being of service, should you deem it appropriate ...

Andy...
Sounds like a great idea. I will have to get in touch with you. We are not open yet, so do you think I should wait until everything at the salon is hooked up first? Currently, I am doing all the programming at home (we already bought our computer system). Should i wait until the beds and tmax and all are hooked up?

Your choice ... make sure you give yourself enough time between the actual hook up of the Beds and TMax and the opening to be comfortable with your codes and staff training.

I would also be pleased to take a few minutes to review the codes you have set up ... with the idea of giving you a few tips ... removing the computer from the list of stress ideas when you are opening can be worth its weight in gold.

All the best, look forward to being of service if and when you deem it appropriate ...
