I am trying to use my star SP200 receipt printer but I don't think that I installed it. It hasn't worked ever, and I am not sure how to install it. Please help me:)

Josh, you must installed the Printer in Windows before it will be available to you in Helios.

Install it as a Generic printer with the Generic Text Only driver ... DO NOT CHANGE the name of the printer ... you MUST leave it as Generic Text Only (Windows default name for the printer) and you can not use a Star Driver, it will not work.

Once you have it installed in Windows, it will then be available to select as your Receipt Printer in your System Preferences (V9 / Settings (V10).

I think we all need to give Andy's Technology Forum 3 cheers and a hearty thanks for all his help in dealing with the star printer, operating systems problems. I just set up a new Dell CPU with XP Pro operating system, loaded Helios v9 and backup files from the old CPU -- everything going way to easy. Next, I set up the star receipt printer. Nothing worked -- I could only print a receipt that was nothing like what it looked like in Windows ME, Helios 9. In frustration, I gave up close to midnight. Today I did a tantalk search for Star Receipt Printer and saw Andy's solution that will save me hours of reading manuals, phone calls to tech support people, and trial and error attempts to fix it myself. Andy -- one big thanks again.

Your very welcome schoolboy ... took me two years of misguided instructions from Helios Tech Support before I got the correct advise from Rich and posted that here.

It is not that Helios Tech Support do not have the answers ... it is that few people at Helios Tech Support have the answers.

Nothing that appropriate management could not resolve ...
