Helios EFT checks? - tanTALK

Hello all, Is there a way to set up Helios to print on the checks you buy at Office Max they print 3 checks per sheet not 4. I do not want to buy Helios checks.

Lisa,

Helios version 10 supports the kind of checks you are talking about.

thanks, but I dont want to get 10. I was wondering if you put single checks in where you do the envelopes if this would work.

Thanks Lisa, sorry for delay but as I posted I am on the road this week.

Gary is VERY knowledgable on Helios as well and it is great to have him posting here ... thanks Gary.

Lisa, V9 is formatted to print 3 up checks and that can not be modified. Guess you could try printing a sample and taking it to your bank to see if they would approve it (on regular paper ... not likely but worth a try maybe). If by chance they do, I would get it in writing to avoid future special service fees for processing same.

This has been a tangled affair for me. The check format I saw on an early version of V10 was, frankly, a mess: 3-on-a-page-personal check size format with completely misaligned banking numbers, some symbols actually rolling to the next line. presently, I use 3-on-a-page business size checks (the most common format) on V 9.4 for one salon and 4-on-a-page for the other (different banks). This is a monthly nightmare and it's all because of Helios' inattention and sloppiness in properly formatting the banking codes. If the software lines up banking numbers and symbols to the accepted banking industry standard, there would be no problems with ANY bank.

Buy a MICR encoder, cheap on eBay...
