Rep Power: 23 | Wel not only have I said that helios sucks from the beginning, but watch out when you cancel their tech support, they continue charging your account for 30 days after you cancel, and then they still deduct money from your account if you arent carefull. I have been waiting for a refund for 3 months now, and still no check in the mail. They honestly suck, and would never do business with them again |

Rep Power: 23 | Good to see you again Mike, and ditto with your feelings about Helios. Didn't know you could "cancel"...would have tried already, even if it were a hassle. A SERIOUS WASTE OF MONEY...to anyone not already in the know. |

Rep Power: 0 | Whew!! I thought I added that topic in my sleep! I want to switch to Sun Touch but I'm going to wait for http://www.gosolarsoft.com to release Salon Wizard. Helios level one tech support is only good if you get them to ask the question to the developers, otherwise prepare to run thru a help desk script. Definitely cancel Helios, then install PC Anywhere and I will administer your PC’s from Vegas. Anyone interested email me at berry@jbjinc.com, my resume is at http://www.jbjinc.com/resume/resume.htm[ This Message was edited by: Poohberry on 2002-12-09 21:13 ] |

Rep Power: 25 | Easy now Berry ... want to buy a Banner Ad, give me a call ... just kidding. Just to clarify ... the Solarsoft family of products: Salon Net ... Data Replication system that works in conjunction if Helios POS providing advanced networking and reporting for a multiple salon organization. Configurations available for both Corporate and Franchise organizations. Salon Wizard ... the same web based reporting engine as provided with Salon Net, but in this case without the Data Replication function ... intended for single salon operators or organization not needing data replication. Salon Works ... Tanning POS software, the ULTIMATE upgrade from Helios POS software. This product represents the next generation in Business and Client Management software for the Tanning Industry, committed to completely open system techology and projected for release in late 2003. |

Rep Power: 0 | I feel I must put in my two cents worth! My wife and I are a few days away from opening our first Tanning Salon and we purchased Helios as several salons in the area use it and endorse it. WE ARE NOT IMPRESSED with Helios and regret purchasing it. I now wish I had gone with SunTouch. First of all there is no manual, yes they say the manual is on the disk; well I printed it out and the information on there is marginal. Most software you buy has a manual as thick as the Yellow Pages of a major city. Yes it is a pain to look through it but if you have a problem you can usually find a solution with enough research. Then there is the FREE tech support! Free? Everytime I call it is a long distance call and since the software does not come with a complete detailed manual we have to call tech support often. Then when we do call tech support the staff there is less than friendly. I am sure once we get the hang of the software it will not be so overwhelming. I may not be the most computer literate person but I use computers and various software daily and can find my way around most applications. So, there is my input for the day on Helios. Sorry Helios, we are the paying customers who keep you in business. Your product I'm sure works well, Improve your manual, whether online or in the form of a printed manual. Get a toll free tech support line and by all means, BE FRIENDLY to those of us who call with a problem. |
