Rep Power: 25 | Teresa, if you need more help than above ... give me a call. Makes one wonder ... Helios charge $399 (Helios List Price) for a device that has a wholesale value of under $100 ... but then do not include instructions and/or driver information when they ship it. I was recently at a Helios User that advised they received a FREE Thumbprint device from Helios for subscribing to and prepaying for Software Maintenance for one year. Interesting, depending on whether you are paying 29.99 or 34.99 per month for support this could amount to less than the list price of the Thumbprint reader ... might we worth asking about if either Helios Support or the Thumbprint Reader are of interest to you. |

Rep Power: 25 | Teresa, just so I understand ... 24.99 per month would be 299.88 for 12 months ... did the annual rate of $399 include the FREE Thumbprint Readers ... what is FREE next year. I sent an eMail to Michael earlier, asking about the Thumbprint drivers ... I am not aware of them being on the Solarsoft website. The Thumbprint Driver is on the Helios V9.4 CD (and some earlier versions) and on the V10 CD .... CAUTION although I have never had a problem installing this driver ... Helios documentation does say to install it BEFORE you install Helios ... does not make much sense if you are acquiring the Thumbprint device years after you have been using Helios. Actually while writing this response got an email reply from Michael ... he was thinking of the drivers for the dongle. |

Rep Power: 25 | The drivers were on the v9.4 update. Got them installed.....sort of....my one salon with 2 workstations will only let me have 1 scanner on one or the other computer, not both. Called technical support at 7pm....closed....M-F 8-8, except holidays....I guess Thanksgiving Eve is a holiday. |

Rep Power: 25 | Teresa, one thing that comes to mind ... make sure you have separate system files for the two workstations. With V9.4 would think you would have to ... in order for the dongle to work from the Workstation to the Server but that is possible with two dongles at that location. Assuming you do have 2 seperate system file records ... it is on these records that the Thumbprint Device Type and Serial # is stored ... check that you have entered the appropriate serial # for each of the devices at each of the workstations on the appropriate system file record. Beyond that, back to Tech Support I guess. Hope this helps ... PS: Teresa, any update on the status of the Helios Networking. _________________ Andy Thompson ACT Business Solutions Toll-Free 877-777-6717 andy@atso.ca ACT Help Center [ This Message was edited by: Andy @ ATSO.ca on 2002-11-28 07:47 ] |
