Rep Power: 0 Becky is on a distinguished road
Andy, i want to give a higher commision rate on some products and am not sure if Helios has that option.

Also, is it possible to give the regular commision on each sale but also to have that reported on a managers commision report separately? I am currently giving my manager commision on people under her if they meet their monthly quota. I have been doing this manually which is very time consuming. I am hoping that helios can help me here also.

Thanks

Good question Becky.....I'm not sure about different commission rates for different products, would have to look at that.
When figureing you managers commission which is based on everyones sales...we use the Sales, by dept & code, to see how much of each product or dept you have sold. Will that work????

Becky, on your first point the approach would depend on how you have approached Commissions in Helios.

If you are using Employee Data, you can set different rates of commission for different employees, if you want different commission rates on different products they would need to be in different departments. In general commission based on Employee Data is MUCH more difficult to set up and MUCH MUCH more difficult to maintain. You will find you need to clear it at EXACTLY the right day and time each Week or Month.

If you set the Commission rate on the Sales code itself (much more common approach) then you can only set one rate or fee for each product/service applicable to all employees (Cashier or Performer). Different Products can of course have different commission rates from other products ... you set the rate on each sales code.

Helios only calculates commission related to the Cashier or Performer of each sales transactions.

Helios does not provide the ability to do an override Bonus calculate based on a number (or all) of employees compared to a quota. Your manual approach is necessary related to Helios. You can use the report suggested by Teresa if all sales are considered or you can use the Commission Sales report and add the appropriate employees together (like I assume you are doing now).

The Reporting Suite within Solarsoft's Salon Net (multiple locations) and Salon Wizard (single locations) does provide the ability to do the custom reporting related to Bonus calculation. If you are interested, give me a call.

Hope this helps ...

Yes Andy, that is the way I am doing the bonus calculation manually.

I am using the sales code apporach to commisions, so yes that is the way I am going to go. Seems rather obvious after you pointing it out. Sometimes I think I try to make things too difficult.

Thanks!
