Having just created the utility to Change Sales Codes and related History (works slick as slick), it got me to thinking ... what other "utilities" would help a Helios Users with the management of their Data and Business.

Got any ideas, post them here.

Here are some that already exist in addition to the Sales Code Changer Utility.

1. Helios Data Cleanup

The ability to do a mass delete of inactive clients and/or transactions ... to clean up your database before season. That one already exists and has just been modified to create a version with the option to retain Clients that owe money regardless of date of last visit.

2. Rotate Accumulators and User Defined Fields

The ability to switch the location of two Accumulators or User Defined fields. When moving Accumulators the related Sales Code impact and history transactions are also amended.

How, got any ideas ... anything you wish you could do ... even a report that you wish you could have.

Recently someone asked if there was a way to merge two clients records ... if the client was set up under two numbers accidently and you wanted to combine them, also moving all the history from the second record back to the first. Something you can do manually, but who has the time, right.

What else, when have you said ... darn, I wish I could just ......

Danno, and I assume the date of the first Transaction record for the client would be acceptable.

Should such an utility ONLY "fix" records without a First Visit Date or should it "fix" all clients to reflect the actual date of the first sales transaction of each client.

Often (if not always - since Helios started to do this) on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of each month the First Visit date is recorded as the 10th, 20th and 30th of the month (except for the 30th in February of course).

If you are going to fix them, I guess it would be correct to fix them all??

The "fix" them all approach above would be a problem in at least two situations:

1. Transaction History has been archived ... the "current" first transaction would in fact NOT be the true first visit date ... the transaction with that date may have been removed from the system during the archive.

2. If a client was set up in the system BUT did not purchase anything until a later visit, using the Transaction date as the First Visit date may be a little inaccurate ... but only a little.
