Just created an Access Utility to work with Helios Databases.

This utility allows you to Change Sales Codes and related History.

It displays certain fields from the Sales Code table (Sales Code, Description, Sales Code Type, Division, Department, Inventory Item 1, Inventory Item 2). Each/Any of these fields can then be changed and all related history will be updated.

If you change the Sales Code field itself, to another code that already exists ... it will provide a warning and if confirmed, the original sale code will be removed and the history amended to the other code.

The utility provides a report of the changes that you have requested.

The utility then in a batch run makes all of the requested changes to the Sales Code tables, the Inventory table, the Inventory Maintenance (Adjustment) table, the Transaction (Customer purchase history) and Void tables.

On a database with 300 Sales Codes and 150,000 Transaction records the utility completed the update in about 10 minutes. It took additional time to input the changes being requested. During the actual update, Helios can not be running.

This utility allows you to restructure your Sales Codes and establish the relationship for Historical Sales Reporting and Comparision to your new Division/Department structure.

This utility allows you to standardize your Sales Codes and related history between your locations if you operate multi locations.

Anyone that is interested in learning more about this utility can reach me at the toll-free number below.

Dan, one of the primary purposes that I created this utility for is to assist in the standardization of Sales Codes between locations for a client about to implement Salon Net.

We will need to get John/Michael do a little more work to impact the Salon Net SQL Database as well as the Helios Databases that my Utility impacts.
