Rep Power: 23 | Andy and others, Since I have had a little free time on my hands, I have been playing around with remotely printing reports out of Helios (9.4) to a laser printer in my home office from the salon. This works like a charm because I have the printer is on the internet (behind a firewall) and I used a Virtual Private Network (VPN) client at the salon to "connect" to my home office network. One clear advantage of this method is that I don't need another version of Helios running at home. With a remote console utility , I can actually run the Helios from my office and have the reports print at home during off-peak or when the salon is closed. Just a little information.. |

Rep Power: 25 | Sounds great Kent, sort of like a PC Anywhere connection BUT will the added advantage of being able to direct the print to your Home Laser rather than a printer in the salon. Just to clarify though ... you do not need another copy of Helios to install Helios at home. You are entitled to install Helios as often as you wish. BUT ... note that without a dongle connected to the system or LAN workstation, Helios will run in demo mode. In demo mode you are able to do all Helios function EXCEPT once you have 25 clients or more in the database you can not do the following: 1. Add a Client 2. Process any POS transaction, including sales, tanning etc. Thanks for the info ... |
