Rep Power: 0 | A new salon I serve has a newer Gateway with no serial port but serveral USB ports. The T-Max manager can be connected to USB, but Helios v9 only looks to Com ports for a timer. How do we fix this short of installing a serial card - I'm not sure that there is an available port. Thanks Andy Bartman |

Rep Power: 25 | SLI-HOT: This appears to be the same issue you raised on TanToday in mid August. To the best of my knowledge, at this time Helios only supports connecting a T-Max Manager via a Serial Port. As outlined in that previous thread on TanToday, this was a topic of discussion during a meeting between Applied Digital and Helios on or about August 21st, 2002. Dan Boone of ADI advised as follows from that meeting on the 21st of August: Quote: Helios should have the USB support fully integrated shortly after the Nashville show. About the same time we start shipping the USB adaptor with every Manager. It will be GREAT if this comes to pass in Helios ... but considering that V10 is now over 10 months past the promised (Nashville 2001 show) shipping date of Nov 9th, 2001 and the promise of shipping next week stated at the 2002 Vegas Show has yet to materialize ... who knows. In the meantime ... if you wish to connect the T-Max Manager ... install a Serial Port. |

Rep Power: 25 | and Dan that will be fantastic, thanks for the confirmation. Please understand that when Helios Personnel can stand at a Trade Show booth in Nashville at the end of October 2001 and commit to users that V10 will ship in two weeks (Nov 9th, 2001) and then again in Vegas at the end of June 2002 and commit to users that V10 with dongles will ship on Monday ... after a while committments from Helios (either expressed directly or communicated by others) become questionable or at least cause a little chuckle. I truly hope you have been given information, by Tony and/or his staff, that is reliable this time. Many users not just Bart are wanting USB support for their Timer Manager. |
