Rep Power: 22 | Hopefully there's a way to do this, it will save me a ton of time and errors. I am opening a new salon soon and would like to have all the same sales codes as my exsisting salon. Everything that is except for the customer data. Is there anyway to take copy of my backup CD to the new salon and do a restore of everything EXCEPT my customers? If not is there an easier method besides doing each sales code manually? I have over 200 sales codes Thanks Lee |

Rep Power: 25 | Lee, Helios have a Utility (ExportCodes.exe) that allows you to Export and Import Sales Codes, Inventory Codes, Departments, and Divisions. If you contact Helios Tech Support, they should be able to email it to you. You can save the exported files to Diskette or CD and take these files to the computer for your new location and "Import" the codes into a FRESH database for that new location. NOTE: All Sales codes and Inventory codes will be replaced on the new system - likely what you want, but do any additions or changes AFTER you import. NOTE: The last version of this utility that I received from Helios DOES also move across the Inventory Quantities - ON HAND, SOLD TO DATE etc. Not logical in my opinion, I have reported this to Helios Tech Support, not sure if they have adjusted it SO BE AWARE. Another option - Do a Backup of ONLY the System Database in the Helios Utilities (or WinZip the Helios.mdb in your Helios9 Data Directory) and email it to me (address below). After conversation with you I will cleanse this database of unwanted data and combine it with a FRESH Client and Transaction database for operation in your new location. This will have the added advantage of keeping other Tables/Preferences that may be common to both locations and having a clean start to your Inventory Quantities. In either case you or I will have to modify your Equipment set up and the related Bed Intelligence within your Tanning Sales Codes. If you believe I can be of service here, give me a call ... we can discuss this and other options for now and in the future. Hope this helps ... _________________ Andy Thompson ACT Business Solutions Toll-Free 877-777-6717 andy@atso.ca ACT Help Center [ This Message was edited by: Andy @ ATSO.ca on 2002-08-31 13:25 ] |
