We needed to move a unit to an empty room to make room for something else. The new room was wired the same time as all the others during the buildout. On Monday, the distributor that sold me the units and one of his technicians came out to move it and re-wire it. After they were done they couldn't get the Intellitan Timer to detect the unit (OR the unit in the next room that had been on the timer working just fine)I did the auto detect on my Helios software and that seems to be all set up. The distributor left me high and dry and can't come up with an explanation for this. Nice huh? Now I am unable to run 2 units. I know nothing about the technical part - this salon is 8 months old and the distributor said he would "help me along the way"....I guess he is done helping me now. I have been reading the manuals that came with the units and the timer manual....but I have customers and other interruptions.....I know I sound like an idiot....but has anyone else experienced this problem? I have fixed a few things (software issues) by reading this board so I thought I might start here. Electricians don't seem to know the tanning bed workings just the wiring. Thanks in advance!

My first suggestion would be to separate the issue to determine if it is a Helios problem or a Timer Problem.
If you disconnect the Timer Manager from the Computer can you operate the units successfully manually from the Timer Manager. If no - then the problem is not in Helios. You may need to Address the units in the room for the Timer Manager. The auto-addressing in Helios has nothing to do with this required initial step. So once you have all the units working with the Timer Manager, now back to Helios. Check that the Location Code is correct for all the room, just the two giving you problems really need to be checked. Hope this helps .... |

Ok...I am pretty proud of myself! If I could figure this out...why couldn't the distributor or the technician that they pay figure this out? I sat here and kept reading the manuals....and decided to check the number they assigned the units. They had them both assigned the same number! Duh! In the middle of this I called the distributor again and he said "you must have some bad wiring in those rooms...let me know what the electrician says". I re-numbered the units on their individual timers and everything is working fine now. This is my first lesson that I must learn more about the mechanicals of things - not just the customer service etc.
